This
is the only chappel dedicated to St. Expeditus in
Argentina. It is located on San Juan province, in
a small town called Bermejo, a few miles away of
the sanctuary of Difunta
Correa. This humble small town has growned thanks
to this chappel. Every 19th (St. Expeditus day)
it is invaded by more than 20.000 people. |

Bermejo
is located 100 km away of San Juan City on national
Route N°20. This town became knowned in 1977 as
epicenter of a terrible earthquake. |

This
chappel is very humble and beatifull, with white walls
& wooden sealing. You can get very emotional after
travelling though the desert and get to this chappel. |

This
area is a desert, with strong winds and dust, few
vegetation and very sunny.
Bermejo population is not langer than 100. There are
no hotels andjust a few places to eat. If you want
to stay here more than a day, this must be taken into
consideration. |

The
statue of the Saint of urgent and impossible cases
arrived to Bermejo 30 years ago broght by friends
a local woman called Doña Petronila Mercado
de Lucero. St. Expeditus helped her husband to overcome
the adiction to alcohol and Petronila became devoted
to this saint converting her own house in the first
chappel on his honor. In 1996, after a log effort
of the community, the construction of the anti-sismic
chappel started |
